SO much has gone on since my last post!! I can’t even remember everything as most of August, and pretty much all of September so far has gone by in a flash!! I can’t believe we are almost in October!! This year has gone by so fast!!! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and 2012 will be here before we know it!!!

                       

Well, its official! J Devin and I are now known as The Bakers! J YAY!!!

 Our wedding was absolutely amazing, and we loved every second of it!! It was the best day of both of our lives!!!

 As with any wedding, it didn’t go 100% perfect, but it was overall amazing!!! Everyone’s hard work, and help really paid off!

The day started with me, my mom and my two sisters (AKA my Bridesmaids) going to a salon to get our hair done! J After the appointment my sisters had to go run back home, and since my mom and I were already pretty close to the reception hall we decided to stay in the South Jordan area.. To kill some time, we went to South Towne mall. Devin and I had wanted to get him some fuchsia socks for the wedding to match my glitter shoes, but we weren’t able to find any! So my mom and I ventured in to Dillards (with our fingers crossed) and got some AWESOME purple, black and fuchsia argyle socks! SCORE! We killed a little time, and about 3:20 decided to go get a drink, then head to the reception hall. They wouldn’t kick us out 30 minutes early right?!?! ;) And then the anxiety hit.. As we walked out of the mall HUGE black clouds were coming over the mountains.. I gave myself a pep talk, and decided that at the end of the day I am going to marry my best friend, and that’s all that matters, so I’m just gonna roll with it! J So we were on our way! We got all the centerpieces, pictures, bubbles, etc unloaded from my moms car and I headed up to the brides room to get my make up done, and finish getting ready while the reception hall got set up! J

As I was upstairs getting ready, waterfall tragedy hit.. Apparently we were able to dodge the rain clouds (YAY) but the workers at our reception hall left the waterfall on, and it FLOODED the yard (BOO)!! My amazing husband, and family got the situation sorted out so we were still able to have our ceremony outdoors! J It all ended up wonderfully, and our ceremony was absolutely beautiful!! Our judge was so unique, he really made the day special!! From there it was on to pictures! I don’t think I have ever smiled so much! Haha. My cheeks are STILL sore! ;) Devin and I then had our first dance, and we moved on to the speeches! J Both my sisters, and Devin’s parents spoke, and all the speeches were really very touching! Devin and I were both a couple of bawl babies! J Then we had the daddy daughter, and mother son dance together! J And then we were off!! The reception is sort of a blur! There were so many people I can barely remember if I got the chance to talk to and meet everyone!! But it was fabulous! The DJ was a BLAST, the photobooth was a HIT, and the food was delicious! Especially our AMAZING wedding cake (Thanks Pat ;)). Overall the night was the best thing I could have imagined, and more perfect than I could have dreamed! I am LOVING being married to the best man I have ever known, and look forward to the next 100 years as Mrs. Devin Baker J

Sunday the 11^th Devin and I hopped in the car and headed to Vegas! Devin had NEVER been (shocking yes I know.. lol), and we wanted something close to home and low key! We got to our room at the Luxor about 5:30, changed and headed out to walk the strip!! I think that night we walked at least 6-8 miles! LOL!! We were exhausted!! The next day we got up and got ready. We were headed to the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace,  and discovered we had a flat tire.. Booooo.. LOL.. We googled, and GPS’d a Big O, and headed their way.. 2 ½ hours later, we had the tire fixed and were on our way!! LOL!! We had lunch and did a little shopping! The next day we got up, got ready and went to the Pink Taco for some lunch, and headed to the Wax museum! LOTS of fun!! J From there we went to the Secret Garden, and Dolphin exhibit! That was awesome as well! They had a 2 week old baby dolphin and a 3 month old! Dev and I could have sat and watched them ALL day!! J From there we went to the Stratosphere..  We went from there to dinner at Margaritaville! Such a FUN place!! Utah definitely needs one of these (hint hint Jimmy Buffet.. lol). We made friends with a “Captain” on stilts, who was making balloon animal hats! LOL! He made Devin and I a conjoining heart hat! He was awesome!! J The next day was pretty mellow! We got gas in the car, did a little shopping and walked around our hotel and the Mandalay Bay! At this point in the trip we were both EXHAUSTED!! Haha. We went to dinner at the House of Blues, then headed back to the room!! The next day we headed home! Instead of going straight home to our house, we took a detour to my parents to go through our mountain of gifts! Haha. That was a lot of fun!!! We really appreciate everyone and everything we got! J Overall our honeymoon was a BLAST!!! And some much needed time for just Dev and I! J

Now we are home, and back to the daily grind!!! Devin has started a co-ed softball league with his family, and some friends on Mondays. We are back to bowling in our DWS league every Thursday night with Dev’s Dad. And we are just enjoying being married, and living together!! Its really nice being home in OUR house, living together and just going through the day to day routine together! J I am really lucky to have such an amazing life partner, best friend, and soul mate wrapped up in the man I get to call my husband! J

BTW- I know, I know.. I am THE WORST at posting without pictures, and ALL week I have reminded myself to bring my camera cord and FORGOT.. LOL!! I will bring it tomorrow and do 2 gigantic posts full of pictures from August and September!! J

52 hours to go!! :)

Well it's been a while since I logged on and posted any updates!!!!

Safe to say I have been running around like a CRAZY woman trying to get everything finalized, and ready for THIS Saturday!!! :)

I can't believe in 52 hours I will be walking down the aisle towards the BEST thing that has ever happened to me!!! We have been waiting SO long for this day to finally get here, and neither one of us can wait!!! SO much has gone on the past few weeks!! Bridal showers, bachelor/ette parties, family dinners, rehearsal dinners.. I can barely remember everything!! All I know is we TRULY appreciate everything that everyone has done to make this time in our lives so special!!

Tomorrow we have our actual rehearsal at the reception center, and the day after I will OFFICIALLY be Mrs. Devin Baker! :) YAY!!!!

I will post more once we return from our honeymoon, and our lives start to slow down and become normal again!!!

Well, I was supposed to post some pics of our little MONSTER Tank last week, and forgot my camera at home all week.. LOL! So here they are finally! J

I last updated on Wednesday, so I don’t have a FULL week of updates! But there’s PLENTY to update none the less! J

Last Wednesday my wonderful sister did my nails, and some glitter toes for my bridal pictures this past weekend!! She did white glitter nails, and fuschia glitter toes! They looked awesome! J

Thursday, was SUPER chill too!! Dev and I just hung out at our house and relaxed!! I made my world famous meatloaf and we just watched a bit of TV! J

Friday I got up and went over to mine n Devs house bright and early to be with Tankers, and clean while Dev worked! Later that day, I went and got my ring cleaned, and also went tanning! Trying to make sure everything was good to go for my pictures Saturday (didn’t want any tan lines! Lol).. Dev got off work about 2ish, and did his FAVORITE thing ever… Mowed the lawn! LOL!! He did this, while my youngest sister practiced my make up for my bridals! J When I went over there first thing in the morning, I put some chicken and a bunch of other stuff in a crock pot for dinner that night! Later that night Dev and I just relaxed, watched The Lincoln Lawyer, and had some YUMMY chicken tacos! J FINALLY we got a nice, chill relaxing night!! Haha. Now that we are in August, those nights are gonna be pretty few and far apart!!! Yep, we only have 40 more days till the BIG day! J YAY!!

Dev went golfing bright and early Saturday morning with our friend Chris and his boss Adam, then he went and took a couple of his nephews swimming!! He is helping his nephew Tyler learn how to competitively swim! He had a lot of fun!!!  Saturday was a LOOOOOOONG day for me, it was finally my Bridal pictures!! I was SO beyond excited to see my dress, jewelry, shoes, hair, make up, bouquet, EVERYTHING all together, I was finally gonna look like a BRIDE! J I got up at 6:45, and did MOST of my make up.. Then I headed to my hair appointment with my sister Danielle at 9, and got back home about 10:45! My youngest sister Jenny then did the rest of my make up while my mom went and picked up my bouquet from Aposhian Gardens.. I was SOOOOOOOO excited to see the bouquet they made, I was a little antsy! Well… Here is where things started to go south… My mom walked in, and the bouquet was NOTHING like I had imagined (or ordered for that matter), and NOTHING like the picture I gave the lady when we initially ordered the flowers.. For those of you that don’t know, our wedding colors are fuschia, black, white and silver.. The flowers we picked are Stargazer lilies, Fuschia roses, and White roses! Well, the bouquet they made had 3 TRUMPET lilies, and 6 white roses with TONS of greenery… Well, the trumpet lilies would normally be VERY pretty, BUT the thing is they aren’t the right color.. They were VERY small, and the centers appeared to be purple.. There was NO fuschia at all in the bouquet, and it just seemed super bland and boring.. At this point I started to get a little frustrated, and panicked.. The wedding was only 42 days away, and if these are the flowers they are planning to use for the big day, that just wouldn’t do.. At this point, its safe to say Bridezilla came out to play… LOL.. We were supposed to meet my WONDERFUL brother in law at the Capitol building to do my pictures at 12.. On the way we stopped by Flower Patch to see what they could do about my bouquet.. We waited about 10 minutes, and the WONDERFUL ladies at Flower Patch put me together the bouquet I had originally dreamed of!! It was SO beautiful!!! I started to calm down at this point, and we made it up to the Capital 5 minutes late, at 12:05.. PHEW not too shabby.. I ran in to the bathroom there at the Capitol to change in to my dress, and while I was in there broke TWO nails.. LOL.. Sheesh.. Could this day get ANY worse?!?! My sister rigged the broken nails on with some 2 way sticky tape.. Haha. And they worked for the day!! We spent about 3 ½ hours shooting pics ALL OVER the Capitol.. We were originally allotted 1 hour,  but hey, nobody said anything so we just kept going! LOL!! We wrapped up the photo shoot (I CAN NOT wait to see the pics!! Steve only gave me a peek at 1! LOL!), then me, my mom and sisters went and visited my 95 year old Great Grandpa! J He is AMAZING, and it made me really happy to go see him. J He is such a special man!! He told me my Great Grandma would be SO proud of me, and she will be there in spirit on my wedding day. J That really touched my heart, and made me very happy. I always knew she would be, but hearing it from my Grandpa made it that much more special!! We spent a little time with my Grandpa, then headed home! We had a BBQ that night to meet my sister Danielles new “guy friend”.. LOL. That was A LOT of fun!! J He is a really good guy!! Later that night some of my wonderful family from Idaho came over to visit! It was really nice! I hadn’t seen them in a LONG time!! And I got to meet my cousin Desirae’s baby girl!! She is an absolute doll! J

Sunday was a REALLY chill day as well!! J Dev went golfing again with our good friend Chris, and then we met at our house! We cleaned up the basement so we could stick Tank down there while we are gone so he has more room to run!! Then we just hung out, put a dinner in the crock pot again, watched a movie and relaxed!!! Now we are back at it!!! LOL! I swear, the days are flying by SOOO fast which is great cuz Im ready for the wedding to be here, I just wish the weekends would slow down a LITTLE bit more! Haha.. A pictureless update!

Well, another week has past! And it’s another week closer to the wedding! YAY!! We are actually down to 45 days today!! I can’t wait!!! July has flown by SO fast! I hope August keeps the same pace! J I forgot my camera cord today, so unfortunately I won’t have any pictures to post.. So this is a pictureless blog update! Haha. I will bring my cord, and upload pictures tomorrow (even though there aren’t many this week)..

The past week was EXTREMELY busy for Dev and I!! Last Monday when I left off, I put up pictures of the ADORABLE little Chihuahua puppy we were “fostering” for a couple days.. Well, after I updated my blog, my Grandma went to mine n Devs house, picked her up and returned her to her owners.. L It was sad!! And I missed her lots that night, but realized it was for the best.. Dev and I had our hearts set on a BIG dog since I have never had anything bigger than a 12 pound dog.. LOL.. And Dev wanted a doggie to do things with!! So we would wait and our perfect dog would find us! J

Tuesday I had my first fitting for my dress! WAHOO!! I was so excited to go put it on!! We got to the store and I slipped it on! I wasn’t over the moon excited with the way I looked in it (hey, its safe to say MOST girls aren’t once bridezilla-isms set in.. lol). They had to take it in, in the chest region.. I am lacking in that department unlike my busty younger sisters.. Sigh… LOL.. I got to mine n Devs house that night to Dev and our GREAT friend Chris assembling our new BBQ.. For those of you who know Dev, you KNOW that man is all about BBQ-ing.. So it was a matter of time before he had his own grill!! I’m surprised he made it THIS long.. LOL… I (being the dog lover, puppy wanter I am) was browsing KSL, when I came across the CUTEST little mutt puppies EVER.. They were a boxer/golden retriever mix, and $50. They were ADORABLE.. There was a little one listed with the name “Sparky” and he instantly stole my heart, as well as Devs.. Dev (being the amazing dog loving, puppy wanting fiancé he is) picked up the phone and called to see if the little dude was still available.. Come to our surprise he was, AND (I call this part fate.. lol) the owners were coming down to Salt Lake from Ephraim Thursday for the Journey concert!! Well we were SOLD! Dev told them we definitely wanted the little stud named “Sparky” and we would meet them Thursday to get him! YAY!! And so it begins… Hahaha..

Wednesday I met Dev at our house after work.. We had errands GALORE to run.. We went and got some tiki torches for our back yard.. No joke can’t even sit out there 5 minutes without being eaten alive by our Jurassic park sized mosquitoes.. ICK!! They are horrible.. I am COVERED head to toe in bites.. These suckers can get ya through sweat shirts and all!! The joys of living close to the Great Salt Lake, AND being surrounded by horses.. LOL! We were having some friends over this weekend, so we needed to do something to prevent everyone from needing blood transfusions from these beasts! LOL!! From there we went to Petsmart.. We got our little monster a few chew toys, doggie dishes, a harness and leash, and the special doggie food Dev researched.. Haha. He is SO stinkin cute with this dog!! And he was before we even got him.. J I lucked out finding a guy who loves dogs as much as I do! ;) We then went to do some grocery shopping, then home to relax!! PHEW!

Thursday was a tough day… I had ZERO focus or motivation at work.. I was too dang excited to meet our little puppy!!! Dev had spoke to the lady the night before, and they agreed to meet out at Ikea at about 3, and the lady would call when they were on their way. Dev usually gets off work at 2:30, but he was WAY too excited as well, so he snuck out a little early! LOL.. He went to our house, changed and waited for the phone call.. Well 3 o’clock came around, and no call.. He got really antsy (as did I).. So we waited, and waited.. And the call FINALLY came in a little after 3:30.. We headed up to meet the peeps and pick up our pooch! LOL! We got there, got out of the car and saw our little (huge) dude.. Dev bent over and the pup ran to Dev and instantly started to play.. Aww.. It was love at first site.. Haha.. We headed to my house and showed him off to my fam, then took him to his new home.. Here is the pic listed on KSL of our new baby rightfully named TANK! J

Friday was another busy day!! I ran errands ALL DAY long, and headed to the house to clean it top to bottom.. As well as spend time with Tank! J We then headed up to Devin’s parents to help in their backyard for a bit as they were getting sod the next day!

Saturday Dev headed to his parents house BRIGHT AND EARLY to help with the sod! I had a hair appointment at 9 to get a color, cut and trial run for my bridals! I LOVE what my stylist did with my hair.. She is amazing!! And I can’t wait to see my dress, hair and make up all come together this Saturday for my bridals!! Makes it all seem SO real, and SO close!! J After my appointment I headed up to Dev’s parents to help finish up the sod.. We got it all completed, and only had one casualty.. Within 5 minutes of me being there, I OF COURSE was stung by a stupid bee… LOL.. Leave it up to me to have something go wrong so quick!! LOL!! We headed home from there, got ready and went to Devs uncles birthday party for a few minutes, then went to a BBQ/Bee’s game with my fam for my Dads work party! It was a good time!! The Bees KILLED the other team.. It was actually a fairly boring game since it wasn’t close at all.. LOL.. But there were fireworks at the end of the game, and those were AWESOME!! We had killer seats almost right underneath the fireworks, so that was a lot of fun!!  J

Sunday was a very chill day.. At last… LOL. We did some grocery shopping, and spent the day relaxing with Tank, and watching movies!!! We went back to my house for our Sunday dinner, and stuffed 300 invites.. LOL.. That was a lot of work!!! But again, made it all seem so real! It was exciting!! J

Monday my mom finished up an AMAZING card box for the wedding!! She is SO AWESOME!!! The box is super pretty! I can’t wait to show it off at the wedding.. I will put up pics tomorrow!! We then went and picked up my dress! YAY!! It fit like a glove this time around!! J Its now waiting patiently at home for me to wear! ;)

Tuesday I woke up not feeling well at all!!! I think I must have had the 24 hour flu.. I got ready, and headed in to work thinking it would pass, and no such luck.. I got SUPER sick at work, and eventually headed home.. I went to mine n Devs house to sleep, and be with Tank!! Let me tell ya, its HARD to sleep and be sick with a 6 week old, hyper puppy that just wants to play! Haha.. Kinda glad we got him now, before we get married and have babies!! LOL!! I slept ALL day, and Dev got off work and took Tank to the vet.. He is healthy as a horse (literally.. the vet said he is gonna be one big boy.. lol) and we relaxed! Now I’m back to the daily grind, with one more day in my week.. Ahh.. I know, its tough being a state worker sometimes.. LOL! ;)

Weekly updates! :)

Well I’ve decided I’m going to start posting every Monday (if all goes as planned) to go over the past week’s activities!! I figure that’ll be MUCH easier than posting one GIGANTIC post talking about the past few weeks (even though I’m sure my posts will be just as huge.. I’m a talker)! LOL!!

This past week has been one of the slower weeks that we have had so far this summer!! It was kind of nice!! J So this first weekly post is probably going to be kind of boring!! LOL!!

Well a couple weeks ago, Devin and I started talking about the possibility of selling our hot tub.. We currently don’t have a fenced in back yard, NO privacy and LOTS of kids in our neighborhood. Dev got home from work a few weeks ago, and the hot tub lid was wide open!! This wasn’t good, especially since that SAME day the neighbor girls were outside in swimsuits running around playing, AND even though we had the hot tub turned off, it was still full… Hmmmm, not 100% sure but we think we know who was playing in the tub.. Well, after talking about it for the past few weeks, Wednesday we made the decision that it had to go!! We couldn’t risk a neighbor kid playing in it and getting hurt, AND once we start our own family I couldn’t feel 100% comfortable EVER leaving the kids home alone (yes, even if that’ll be like 13 years away.. lol) and letting the kids play in the backyard without FULL supervision.. So Wednesday we cleaned it out really good, polished up the cover and posted pictures on KSL. Well after a day of NO bites, we reposted it Thursday night (just to see).. After about an hour, we received a phone call from one interested purchaser, and a text from another.. The guy who called ended up coming over to check it out, and it was a done deal! He gave us some money to hold it for him till Friday, then met up with me and paid the rest off.. Apparently he and his wife went out of town for the weekend, so he is coming to get it tonight! That was FAST! LOL.. We didn’t think it would be sold as fast as it was, but we are glad to have it leaving (one less stress) and we are more than happy for the extra $$! J

Friday afternoon Dev and I went up to his parents for a few hours to help in the backyard! Devs parents have been in their house for about 4 years, and they have the front yard done, just not the back. For the past few weeks, they have been pulling weeds, leveling, putting in a sprinkler system, etc to get it ready for top soil and sod this week… We figured the least we could do is give them as much time as possible right now (things are extremely hectic and busy with the wedding right around the corner) since they are having our rehearsal dinner there, and in the back yard September 3! Well we spent 2 ½ hours running wires for the sprinkler system, burying trenches, and throwing out HUGE rocks!! PHEW!! We were EXHAUSTED!!! It was A LOT of work!! And even though 2 ½ hours doesn’t seem like much, we got half of their (over) 6500 square foot backyard ready for top soil!! We went home that night about 7, and our good friend Chris came over with his son Aiden and made us dinner!! He made his “world famous” spaghetti, and it was way yummy!! After dinner, and cleaning up we just sat around and talked and hung out, while poor Aiden who was beat, fell asleep right on the floor by the kitchen table.. LOL. Poor guy couldn’t even make it to a couch! Haha.. It was a really fun, chill night!!

Saturday morning, Dev got up BRIGHT AND EARLY and headed to his parents house to do more work in the yard! I of course slept in.. LOL (that is the one thing I will miss about living separate.. not waking up each time he does if I don’t have to.. haha).. I got up, and got ready for my second bridal shower with Devs family! I headed up to Devs parents house a bit after 1, and he headed to the NEXT yard that he was asked to help in.. By the time he got to that yard, everything was done so he wasn’t needed anymore, lucky Dev headed home to nap. My bridal shower was a lot of fun!!! Devs mom and sisters all did a really great job!! The food was yummy, the gifts were awesome (it was camping theme), and the company was great as well!! It was a really fun day!! Dev came back up about 3:30, and he had to open one gift in particular… I was BRIGHT red, and he needed to feel the pain too.. Haha. Well as we were getting ready to clean up, and head out I got a call from my grandma.. Friday she ended up purchasing a LITTLE (not even 1 pd) Chihuahua! Once she got her home, her older (much bigger) doggie didn’t like her AT ALL, so she realized she couldn’t keep her. Since Dev and I have a house, and no other pets we offered to take her till we could find her a good home.. She is SO adorable, and such a good doggie.. I got more attached than I thought I would.. L And now I’m havin a hard time knowing we are gonna have to send her on her way soon!! I think its awesome how people foster doggies, and keep them till they can transition them to their new home.. I just def couldn’t do that!! Its way too hard for me!!! Saturday night we set up the little stinker in our jetted tub with blankies, water and her toys and headed out to my Dads lifelong, best friends birthday party! It was lots of fun hanging out, and talking to people that I haven’t seen in YEARS!! It was a nice Saturday!!

Sunday I got up and headed over to the house, and Dev and I washed our cars.. They both DESPERATELY needed a good cleaning.. I honestly can’t even remember the last time I washed my car! Haha.. We played with the puppy, then went to my parents house for Sunday dinner..

Now we are back up and at it!!! And I’ve already got a serious case of the Mondays.. BLAH! LOL! This week is a BUSY one!!! Lots going on!!! So I hope I can wake up, and make it through! Haha. Have a great week everyone!!! J

Wedding- PalOoZa!!

Well, I said I would post pics of the house renovations like 2 weeks ago, and I never did.. LOL!! So today is the day! J I have all the before pics on my sisters camera (well, all that I took anyway).. So you will just have to use your imagination for the befores as you look over the afters! Not that much imagination is needed.. LOL! The walls were all, 100% completely WHITE.. The cabinets down in the kitchen were the basic, light oak color.. The house was very clean, and plain.. So it was fun to be able to do our own thing, and have such an easy time changing everything!! J We are still working on some things downstairs (finishing poly euro thane’ing the cabinets, painting the banisters/railings, and switching out lights), and then we will move on up to finish the upstairs (main/master bathroom, spare bedroom and what will be a nursery).. J I don’t think we will have everything finished before 9-10-11 comes rolling around, esp since we are down to 61 days now! LOL!! But we are sure gonna try hard!! I will (I promise) post more pics, more often as we go! Haha. For now, here is a peek into the house that is now being called “Devisha’s”.. J

Well, the post header is called “wedding-palooza”, and that is for a good reason!!! We have now switched over from everything HOUSE, to everything WEDDING! As we should be!! As I previously said, we are down to 61 days!! AHH only 61 more days!! Yesterday was officially 2 months!! We are really getting down to the wire, and I get more and more excited every day!! This past weekend we went with Devin’s parents and ordered our beautiful flowers, I can’t wait to see everything come together, especially my gorgeous bouquet! We also (finally) narrowed down our pics, and had them finished/touched up, and my awesome mom got our invites ordered (the designer should be emailing me a proof tomorrow, and I CAN NOT wait to see it)!! Yesterday I finished up my favors for this weekends Bridal Shower with Dev’s great fam! J Should be a great time!! 2 weeks ago was the shower my amazing fam threw for me.. It was such a GREAT time, everyone worked really hard to make sure my day was amazing, and we got SPOILED!! We got so much nice stuff!! Below are a few pics from the shower! J It was a great day!!
